Caity Fares: Visions from Mannequin Camera #1

Caity Fares is a visual artist, college educator, and freelance photojournalist living in California. Working across analogue and digital photography media, the following project was produced through a wholly unique and experimental methodology.

Caity’s project Visions from Mannequin Camera #1 “was inspired by feminist-science thinker Donna Haraway's ‘Cyborg Manifesto’ and the idea of the human-machine. [She] turned a discarded mannequin-head into a pinhole camera and used light sensitive paper negatives to capture seemingly haunted imagery.” It depicts imagery of urban San Francisco.
