MeasTú | Audio Department
MeasTú is the music project of Irish musician, producer, and sound designer Jack O’Donoghue. He also heads Audio Department Records, the in-house sound label for Collective Films in Dublin. Influenced by Pink Floyd, Queen, Hans Zimmer, and Boards of Canada, MeasTú also gains inspiration from film soundtrack design and fantasy literature. His longform ambient pieces, two of which are below, borrow from these cross-media sites.

Pachamama (Audio Department Records)
Pachamama is a 10-minute experimental ambient track. In Audio Department’s words, “the piece … is a response to the global climate crisis and was originally made to accompany our documentary 'REBEL OR DIE' but has since been evolved many times to stand alone as a powerful, moving and emotive journey through our planet and her pain.” It is also a collaborative work with Collective Film members Greg Purcell and Mark Logan.
Saol (MeasTú)
The debut single from MeasTú ‘Saol’ came out in Spring 2020, and accompanies this in-house produced video (YouTube link). Saol is a contemplative and flowing piece that emerged at a time of global crisis. In their words: “We decided to explore the question ‘What have we learned’ and how that relates to life and these times.”
